Gawd! but this 'spring' has been too hot... & somewhat horrid... & we ain't supposed to be productive gardening in any meaningful way in summer...

 Raging rust on the garlic - maybe 'cos 'twas in the shade-tunnel & demanding water - demanded early harvest whilst on small side.

Nice new berry support; trying sweetcorn Swift & courgette Tuscany in the dapple.

Walking: Staffs & Worcs Canal circular (via Otherton, Calf Heath, & the Hatherton Branch)

12 bloody miles... 12... count'em, cos I didn't! A lot of roadway as well... 

It was clear, bright, & hot... goddamit! 

It's a long way to the Staffs & Worcs from our house...

 ... & the ageing, lockdown-lazy, chair jockeys got achy, painy, whiny!

Lovely walk though... not that last bit through Wedges Mills & over Lodge Hill... purgatory that bit! 

Walking: oh-so-long circular to/from allotment

It's a 20-25 minute walk to the allotment... for some reason it was decided to turn this into almost a 2 hour trudge. 10 out of 10 for virtue... not many out of 10 given the nature of the gardening tasks demanded before trudging home! 

You gotta love chives...
