Couple nights camping a mile north of Church Stretton, ostensibly to walk the north-south ridgeway of hills immediately to the east of the town - The Lawley, Caer Caradoc, & Helmuth - it was too hot & we couldn't be arsed!
So, we enjoyed the great views from Barn Field Farm, took some easy walks around the site, & loved the leisurely stroll to the delicacies on offer in Little Switzerland (pork & fidget pies, good olives, & great cake!) There's a railway station too, with line passing close to the camping field... & I love the sound of a choo-choo!
We'll go back for that big, strenuous stride...
but to keep our bits in order, we took a lovely walk up & around Rectory Wood -
it kept us out of the blazing sun for one thing - & it was good!
All in all, a lovely day in some lovely places; an evening, & drinks, on a lovely campsite; a decent night's kip on us lovely futon (told you... middle class fkrs!)
We shall do this again... but after the bleedin' school holliers... home James!
