Walking: Ferryhill Carrs

 Were up near Durham - for a thing! - staying in family house in West Cornforth...

I mean, you have to get away from'em... No?

I had a map & the Ferryhill Carrs nature reserve was just down the way.

Fen & valley bog, woodland, hilltop quarry & scrub... 

all in a once-industrial landscape... nice!

This was the GOOD thing...

Couple of evenings in Manchester

brilliant musicians playing fantastic music... 

Hackney Colliery Band: modern British brass as it should be...

Add lunch at the Legh Arms; dinner at The Boathouse;

Den's ass to down to Stoke - finally!

... then great to get back home!

He has a new spot in the garden now...
