Mayfield Park, 6.5 acres of loveliness a stones-throw east of the ass-end
of Piccadilly Station, the first Mancunian urban park for over 100years...
we dragged a combined 183 years around it for a good while!
I must admit, it's rather wonderful... a repurposed railway station & depot, it retains it's industrial feel whilst providing a green, eco-refuge amongst the bustle & hum of Manchester's busy road & travel network... got a great street food marketplace!
The antipodean decided to drag us to Factory International, a cultural centre currently under development down by the Irwell... nice cafe.
How come Col knows about this shit from the other side of the world?
I'm in & out of the city on a regular basis & ain't got a clue!
So we wandered city streets...
& I crossed Deansgate for the third time in 30-odd years!
I'd forgotten the Irwell was a proper river...
The Lowry was most inviting... & had pies!
IWMN needs the light!
