Walking: Shifnal to Grindle Forge

A lovely walk, on a bright & beautiful late summer day... 6 mile circular from town centre, south through farmland & wood, following the valley of the Wesley Brook.

As we walked into the valley, closer to the brook, the quiet slowly shrouded...
the soughing of the canopy often the only sound.

Then back to the traffic, the bustle, the idiosyncracy that is Shifnal... from the butcher, a lovely Fidgetty Pie & thick, thick bacon... then home for scran!

A wonderful, enjoyable, engaging all-season walk that will be repeated!
Must check out the town too...

Magic 2021

Fantastic (magic!) weekend in Newcastle!

Decent-ish weather; great games; good grub, company, & other stuff... live music, & many beers (such a lairy, petulant drunk, she is!), at the Cumberland Arms; hot times at the Simla... & some kick-ass football, with proper jeopardy:
*
Catalan mugged Saints to grab the League Leader's Shield: three tries in the last 5 minutes brought it to 30 apiece; Maloney dropped the golden point in the second period of extra time... we'd almost left early!
*
Trinity took Huddersfield 32 - 18 with simple, efficient, effective rugby - sets completed, & Lino didn't miss a goal!
*
The Wire arm-wrestled Wigan in an end-to-end game, winning 10 - 6, with Williams being booed as a traitor for scoring Warrington's second try.

St. James is THE Magic Weekend venue; later in the season, THE appropriate time.
