Walking: The Roaches

Yeah... a few weeks ago we were in the Staffordshire Peaks,
a few days exploring an area close to home but unknown (August blogs).
It seemed a good idea to stroll to this outcrop of North Staffs gritstone massif,
then scramble, walk, & wander the lumpy bits... ain't sure 'twas!  Much further than it seemed on the map - which ain't the territory, as us NLP types like to say!
Girt views mind...
Fantastic weather for a long day in the hills: dry, bright, breezy, wi'cool periods,
but plenty o'sun!  We enjoyed the bejesus out of it!
If you haven't been, go!  It is a great day out... just remember,
there's plenty o'roadside parking, & easy access, along the base of the ridge!
Back via country lanes to Meerbrook & the Lazy Trout, which was long but okay, except for the fkn loose Rottweiler that wanted to eat us on Cote Lane...
Jude did a bit of poo!
We had fine drinks!

Walking: around Wolverley, Cookley, & the Staffs-Worcester Canal

Camping at Wolverley, it would be rude not to take a wee wander through the highways & byways of this part of Worcestershire...

B4189 road alongside the campsite was so very busy...
Bank Holiday for the State Funeral mind!

Walking: The Sheepwalks, Enville

A short (5ml) stroll among the woods & dingles of the Enville Estate...
lovely walking with surprisingly beautiful views...
I'd do it again in a heartbeat!
... & the Cat Inn is a lovely pub, with plenty of Enville!

Walking: Wolverley to Kidderminster (& back!)

Rather wonderful evening stroll from The Lock at Wolverley
along the Staffs & Worcs to Kiddie...

Walking: Kinver Edge

Finally got to Kinver Edge together... 5ml circular, that is taxing, has great views, caves, rock houses, & ever more great views!
Enjoyed it so much, we went back to Wolverley for a couple of nights camping,
& more local walking... I mean, most of it's in Staffordshire!
