Walking: Chapel-le-Dale, Yorkshire Dales

Camped at Philpin Farm, under Whernside - ain't never been up no Whernside!
Another fantastic campsite, with the added 'attraction' of 50 junior soldiers!
Behind us, Ingleborough... been up Ingleborough...
ain't going up no Ingleborough!
Went for a wee stroll, ostensibly to the Ribblehead Viaduct.
We ended up climbing up & along Whernside, with our apples & bockles o'water!
Turning left at Bruntscar, we started up, & the perpendicular cutting of contours
... like the diculars we are! There was an awful lot of up...
736m the trig point on Whernside... vues magnifiques du haut!
It was turning into a long day...
Dentdale running into Ribblesdale; Widdale in the distance
Hidey sheep.
Hidey lady.
A great walk. A bloody taxing walk! We passed a fair few Three Peaks Challenge groups - works parties, charity groups etc - loadsa medical drop-outs due to heat!
There was the Station Inn, of course, & then a good stretch back home.
40 years since I was here... won't be owt like that 'til I'm back.
Bugger Pen y Ghent by the way!
